Eleanor M. (Durning) Loughead, age 75, wife of the late David Loughead, Sr., of Limerick, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at home. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret (O'Connor) Durning.

Mrs. Loughead graduated from West Catholic High School in Philadelphia, PA. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked as a tax examiner. She was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford. She enjoyed watching old movies, traveling with her family, and most importantly spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Loughead is survived by one son, David Jr., husband of Donna Loughead, of Limerick; two grandchildren, Brienna and David III, of Limerick; one sister, Julie, wife of Alex Grosser, of Gap, PA; one sister-in-law, Helen Loughead, of Philadelphia, PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Persing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Walnut Street at Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468 on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Peter J. DiMaria. Burial will follow in the St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Friends will be received at the church from 8:45-9:45 AM. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, PA 19382.
