Elizabeth E. "Betty" Russell, age 80, wife of the late Arthur L. Russell of Royersford, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026 in the Hemsley House in Dresher, PA. Born on December 16, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, she was a daughter of the late Philip P. and Mary H. (Duddy) Kennedy.

Betty was a graduate of St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia. She furthered her education and received her degree in nursing from St. Mary's Nursing School, also in Philadelphia, and she worked as a nurse for Bayada Pediatrics in Paoli, PA until her retirement in 2020. Early in her career as a nurse, she worked in the hospital operating room. Betty was born with a cleft lip and she was able to assist in surgeries of babies born with the same condition. When her children were born, she worked as a pediatric home care nurse working night shifts so she could be home with her children during the day. Betty dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and pediatric patients. With the loss of her granddaughter in 2019, she was able to keep her alive with CPR for approximately 30 minutes so that her granddaughter was able to save lives through the Gift of Life. There was a time when a family called to let her know that their daughter was in distress. Betty arrived faster than the ambulance! Her dedication as a nurse to her patients was admirable.

As a devout Catholic and member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford since 1975, her faith was paramount in her life. She attended or livestreamed mass daily, often with family and friends, and she faithfully recited the Chaplet of The Divine Mercy and the Rosary. She cherished spending time with her family, and looked forward to Sunday breakfast after church with her family, especially Luca, her great grandson. She told her daughter and friends that she is going to ask God to help Luca, who is autistic, when she gets to heaven. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving mother and friend. She never realized how funny she was, just that she made people laugh and that warmed her heart. She loved to plan activities and mass where she lived in Limerick. Affectionately known as "Bingo Betty" to her neighbors in her apartment complex, she could often be found with a cup of Starbucks in her hand! Betty loved to travel with her husband and family on camping trips before he passed.

Mrs. Russell is survived by three children, Paul A., husband of Brandi Russell, Amy M., wife of Vince Braccia, and Jonathan E. Russell; nine grandchildren, Alexis, Meghan (Mike), Brett (Mackenzie), Noah, Madison, Hannah (Luka), Izzie, Cayla (Sean) and Christina (Lenny); six great-grandchildren, Luca, Kenley, Aria, John, Leo and Jaeda; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Beth; and two brothers, Donald and Edward O'Beirne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, PA on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Tadeusz Gorka. Burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford, PA. Friends will be received at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA from 9:00 am - 10:30 am on Monday morning.
