Elizabeth (Pechin) Bickel, 84, wife of the late Wayne H. Bickel, of Cedarville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in her residence. Born in West Chester, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Margaret (Simpson) Pechin Thackery.
Mrs. Bickel was a 1941 graduate of West Chester High School. She was employed at Sears and Roebuck Co. in Pottstown for over 30 years and was a longtime member of the Coventry Church of the Brethren, where she active in the Friendship Circle. She also enjoyed gardening in her younger years and loved shopping. Mrs. Bickel was an active lifetime member of the North Coventry Grange.
Mrs. Bickel is survived by two sons, Edmund W., husband of Ellen M. Bickel, of Limerick and Thomas D., husband of Kathy E. Bickel, of Snowdenville, three grandchildren, Richard C. Bickel, Rachel L. Bickel, and Jesse N. Bickel, and three great-grandchildren, Casey M. McHugh, Maggie M. McHugh, and Tyler H. Bickel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Coventry Church of the Brethren, South Keim and East Cedarville Road, Pottstown, on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Sandford J. Christophel. Interment will follow in the East Coventry Mennonite Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Monday evening and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Church.
