ELIZABETH ROSE (UNDERCOFFLER) FISHER
April 25, 1929 - June 28, 2023

Elizabeth Rose (Undercoffler) Fisher, age 94, wife of the late John (Jack) E. Fisher of Phoenixville, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Known informally to most as Betsy, she was born on April 25, 1929, in Limerick Township, the first child of the late Harvey and Estelle (Eckhart) Undercoffler.

Betsy Fisher was a graduate of Royersford High School, class of 1947. After completing course work at Pierce Business School in Philadelphia, she enjoyed a decades-long professional career as a medical secretary in Phoenixville primary care practices. Her final position was in real estate as a property manager.

A devoted mother, she and husband Jack raised five children in Upper Providence Township in the 1960s and 70s. They were one of the original nine oaks founding families who formed the Nine Oaks Swim and Tennis Club.

She was a lifelong member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Trappe, PA. In later years she arranged flowers for Sunday services, which was one of her hobbies along with gardening and spending time marveling over the antics of birds. She was in several bridge groups and book clubs, and enjoyed gifting her family with visits to Philadelphia's many cultural institutions. Also, with family members she traveled extensively in the US and throughout the world.

Betsy Fisher was a long-time member of the Phoenixville Women's Club where she served as president, and was presented the Ambassador of the Year Award by the Phoenixville Interservice Club in 2009. She was also a greeter at The Philadelphia Flower Show, a volunteer during the establishment of Phoenixville's The Clinic as well as the Phoenixville Hospital Thrift Store until just last year.

She is survived by five children, Timothy Fisher, Elizabeth, wife of the late Robert Haines, Shanlee Fisher, Tara Fisher, and Michael, husband of Debbie (Pascale) Fisher; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother Jack Undercoffler, sister Mary Weltzin, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Harvey Undercoffler and sister Sally Saunders.

A funeral service will be held at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 200 West Main Street, Trappe, PA, on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11:00 am. Those attending are welcome to arrive beginning at 10:45am.
