Obituary

Elizabeth "Liz" Emily (Cox) Stoyko, age 67, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020. Born on April 16, 1952 in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Dorothy Cox. Throughout her life, she lived in Baltimore, Maryland; Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Richmond, Virginia; Harrison, Stockton Springs, and Phippsburg, Maine.

Liz worked for many recent years as an accomplished fiber artist creating many intricate and beautiful works of art and portraiture in hooked wool pillows and wall hangings. Liz was also a very talented vocalist, who trained as a soprano at Peabody Conservatory, and performed in her youth and sang in numerous church choirs and choral groups, primarily in the states of Virginia and Maine. She had an acute interest in politics and government, having opinion letters published eleven times in the Wall Street Journal. While living in Baltimore, she worked in the Admissions Department at Johns Hopkins University.

In her spare time she enjoyed antique hunting, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She loved planning trips and traveling with her family – particularly to the Tirol and Italy. Liz loved the many interesting homes she lived in, and had a fantastic talent for interior design. She had a passion for animals throughout her life, but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her adoring grandchildren and family. Liz was an exceptionally loving mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend to all and she will be missed by many.

Liz is survived by her loving husband, William Stoyko and two daughters, Greta (Grant) Flothmeier of Collegeville, PA, Kira (Anthony Perez) Stoyko, of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; One sister, Louise Weber; One brother, Wayne Cox; and two loving grandchildren Kurt Flothmeier & Vivien Flothmeier.
