Elizabeth A. "Betty" (Madara) Snyder, 85, widow of the late Earlin L. Snyder, Sr., of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008, in the Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Upper Providence.? Born in Tremont, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Anna Louise (Ney) Madara.?
Mrs. Snyder was a graduate of Tremont High School and Harrisburg Business School. She was employed as a legal secretary during World War II.? She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and spent much of her time taking care of her home and family.? Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Phoenixville, where she belonged to the Martha Elizabeth Circle, and was a charter member of the Phoenixville Meals on Wheels.? She and her husband enjoyed traveling across the country seven times, and enjoyed their many trips to Avalon and Nags Head?
Mrs. Snyder is survived by daughters Linda, wife of William Keota, of Reading, Jeanne, wife of Tom Dzedzy, of Phoenixville, sons, David Snyder, of Phoenixville, Earlin Jr., husband of Gay Snyder, of Phoenixville, Daniel Snyder, companion of Amy Florence, of Chadds Ford, and Richard, husband of Mary Snyder, of Gilbertsville, sister Violet Diehl. Of Lititz, brother Ralph Madara, of Waterford, CT, and was very proud of her seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.? She was preceded in death by her brothers Roy and Joseph Madara.?
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 12 PM Noon.? Officiating will be the Rev. Richard W. Howarth.? Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery.? Friends may call from 10 am to 12 PM Noon at the funeral home.? In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Betty's name to the Elizabeth A. Snyder Memorial Fund, c/o National Penn Bank, 702 S.
