Elmer K. Fisher, age 84, husband of the late Sue (Spiese) Fisher, of Elverson, PA, formerly of Norristown, PA, died early Thursday morning, June 26th, 2008 in the Freedom Village Retirement Center, Coatesville, PA.? He was a graduate of the A.D. Eisenhower High School in Norristown.? Mr. Fisher owned the contracting business that was in his family since the early 1900's, the S.C. & E.K. Fisher Company.? He grew the business to 4 separate businesses including the Welsh Mountain Quarry in Honeybrook.? In later years, Mr. Fisher enjoyed tending to his farm, cattle, and gardens at his home in Elverson.?
Mr. Fisher is survived by one step-daughter; S. Joy, wife of Richard Hauptman, of Ocean, NJ, two step-sons; Craig J., husband of Barbara Arbaugh, of Elverson, PA, Scott D., husband of Maureen Arbaugh, of Elverson, PA, and six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.? Mr. Fisher was pre-deceased by one sister; Sybel Jacobs, and one brother; John Fisher.? Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Washington Memorial Chapel, Rt. 23 in the Valley Forge National Historic Park, Valley Forge, PA on Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 at 11:00AM.? Officiating will be the Rev. Mildred L. Greenwood, Deacon.? Burial will be in the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA.?
