Obituary

Elsie Mae (Proctor) Mitchell-Jacobs, 97, of Spring City, formerly Berwyn, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2009, in the Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester. She was the wife of the late Harry Mitchell and the late Harry Jacobs. Born June 26, 1912 in Sadsburyville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Nixon) Proctor.

Mrs. Mitchell-Jacobs was a member of the St. John's AME Church in Wayne, where she was a Steward of the Church. She was a superb cook and enjoyed beautiful flowers gardens.

Mrs. Mitchell-Jacobs is survived by three sons, Kenneth P., husband of Heather Mitchell and the late Debbie Mitchell, of Mont Clare, Guy L., husband of Meza Mitchell, of Chesapeake, VA, and John W., husband of Margaret Mitchell, of Honeybrook, brother, James Russell Proctor, of CA, daughter-in-law, Joanne Mitchell, of Los Angeles, CA., and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jane Mitchell, son Harry A. Mitchell III, four sisters, Emma, Gladys, Rebecca, and Tina, and three brothers, Clyde, Clarence, and Kenneth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Bethel Baptist Church, 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Natalie Mitchem. Friends will be received from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville. Condolences may be offered online at www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.
