Eric Dervinis, 69, of Downingtown, PA, passed away at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA, on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a longtime Chester County resident. The son of the late Alphonse and Marion (Stocker) Dervinis, he is survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law, Elise Dervinis and Scott Murphy, their son Gregory Dervinis, and a host of good friends.

Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ursinus College (1978). He enjoyed a long, industrious career in sales, working for Maybelline / Garnier / L'Oreal. Starting as a Salesman, he moved up to District Sales Manager, followed by Regional Account Manager, then Regional Manager, finally retiring as a National Account Manager at L'Oreal. His passion was trains in any form; he was an avid Model Railroader and Railfan.

Eric was a member of the Erie Lackawanna Historical Society, the Delaware Lackawanna & Western Historical Society, the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society, and the Philadelphia chapter of NRHS (National Rail Historical Society). He's also held leadership roles in many of his groups. A former President of the Gatsme Model Railroad Club, he helped the group as it searched for and purchased a building in Rockledge, where they eventually founded the Rockledge Model Railroad Museum, and built an entirely new model railroad. In the NMRA (National Model Railroad Association), he was involved at the divisional, regional, and national level. A member of the Philadelphia division, he was often seen at the NJ division meetings as well. A Life Member of the organization, he's been on the National Board of Directors of the NMRA as a Trustee, served as Clerk of the local division, and as the Convention Chair of the Mideast Region of the NMRA. He ran the NMRA Valley Forge Express Convention in 1993. A member of the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, he would direct unofficial tours for his family, with a ready answer to every question they asked.

When he had a few spare moments, he enjoyed travel, cooking, reading, and visiting historical sites. He enjoyed many fun vacations with Elise, Scott, and Gregory.

Relatives, friends, and friends of the family are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, May 5, at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 532 Main St., Collegeville, PA. Officiating will be Rev. Suzanne Schwarz-Green. Visitation/Viewing is 10-11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Trinity Reformed UCC cemetery.
