Eris (Reed) Newman, 84, widow of the late Joe Mat Newman, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, formerly Alexandria, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010, in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Effie, LA, she was a daughter of the late Sinclair T. and Etha (George) Reed.

She was a member of the Phoenixville Senior Center. A recognized artist, her work had been shown at the Phoenixville Senior Center and the Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill.

Mrs. Newman is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Braden and Toni J. Newman, son-in-law, John E. Braden, daughter-in-law, Margaret O'Malley, three granddaughters, Leigh Braden, Olivia McIntyre, and Natalie Braden, four great grandchildren, Sphere and Pi Sean McIntyre, Benjamin Braden-Forge, and Emma Fletcher, and two sisters, Lois McAlister and Helen Aymond.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Thursday, September 2, 2010, at 6:15 p.m. Friends will be received from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Inurnment services will be on October 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball, LA.
