Esther Long Wisler, 81, of Frederick, formerly Limerick, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2009, in the Frederick Mennonite Community. She was the widow of the late Samuel H. Wisler, to whom she married on March 23, 1947. Born in Harleysville, she was a daughter of the late Abel K. and Idella (Koch) Long.

Mrs. Wisler was a 1945 graduate of Souderton High School. She was a homemaker and was an active member of the Mingo (now Providence) Church of the Brethren, where she sang in the choir, duets, and quartets. She also enjoyed reading and tending to her houseplants.

Mrs. Wisler is survived by two daughters, Lori, wife of Bob Stauffer, of Pottstown, and Marla, wife of Keith Henley, of Gilbertsville, two sons, Donald K., husband of Colleen Wisler, of Boyertown, and Robert Wisler, of Nashua, NH, two sisters, Kathleen Ellinger and Miriam Gottshall, two brothers, Richard and Clifford Long, eight grandchildren, Tammy Rissmiller, Shawn Wisler, Rob Stauffer, Dawn Ellenberger, Chris Wisler, Ryan Wisler, Tanya Borchelt, and Jason Henley, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie Wisler and Rose Eltz, and brother Homer Long.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Frank Robinson. Interment will follow in the Mingo Cemetery, Upper Providence. Friends will be received from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Thursday evening and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home.
