Ethel (Simon) Sabo, 81, wife of the late John Sabo Jr., of Phoenixville, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009, in the Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth Simon.

Mrs. Sabo was a graduate of Phoenixville High School and was employed for 18 years at National Liberty until her retirement. She loved to read and enjoyed shopping and day trips to Amish Country with her girlfriends.

A housewife and mother at heart, Mrs. Sabo took in young mothers and their children who were in need. She provided them with reasonable living and babysat so the mothers could go to work.

Mrs. Sabo is survived by her daughter, Michele (Sabo), wife of Ben DiDonato, of Douglassville, two sons, John Sabo III, husband of Jessica, of Phoenixville, and David A. Sabo, of Phoenixville, six grandchildren, John, Bryan, Amanda, David, Alex, and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Simon.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Morris Cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
