Evangelus J. ``Vine''? Komes died at Sanatoga Court, Pottstown on ?Thursday February 14, 2008 ?after a long illness.? For most of his life Mr. Komes lived in Phoenixville in the house where he was born, and he was a graduate of Phoenixville High School Class of 1941.? His parents, George and Despina Komes, originally from Greece, owned the Candyland Restaurant for fifty years; and Vine, his sister Beatrice, and his brother Mitchell? worked there.? From the 1950's he was employed in the insurance business, always taking great pleasure and pride in serving his clients.? He also enjoyed playing and competing in golf, pool, chess, and table tennis.? One of his fondest memories was of dancing at Sunnybrook Ballroom during the Big Band Era.?
?Mr. Komes is survived by one daughter Despina Grieco of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. ?
Burial will be held privately at the Morris Cemetery.?
