Evelyn Brown, age 101, Wife of Albert Brown of Douglassville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. Evelyn Allison Brown was born 8/1/1923 to Rhoda (Briggs) and George Allison in the "Ole City' of Philadelphia. Due to the construction of the Ben Franklin Bridge, their home was demolished, and the family moved to Cold Point, PA.

Evelyn's parents immigrated to the US from Tynedale, England, and her father served in the British Army During WWI.

Evelyn graduated in 1941 from Conshohocken HS as valedictorian of her class. She went on to work as a secretary for the Plymouth Tank Company, where through a coworker, she met her future husband, Albert Brown, at a square dance. WWII began, and Albert enlisted in the Army. Evelyn and Albert became engaged before he shipped overseas. During the war, Evelyn became involved in state-side war activities, befriending British soldiers whose ship was torpedoed and who were in Philadelphia for repairs.

Albert and Evelyn were married on 1/26/1946 at Cold Point Baptist Church. Albert began an apprenticeship with Solman and Schmidt in Norristown, PA, and in 1970 purchased the business, where Evelyn became his secretary in the office. In 1987, the business was purchased by their two sons, Charles (born in 1948) and Brian (born in 1952). They had a daughter, Heather, born in 1962. After Albert passed away in 2006, Evelyn moved to her daughter's home in Douglassville, PA. In addition to her 3 children, Evelyn has 6 grandchildren, 2 Step-grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Rd, Oaks, PA 19456, on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Green Tree Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Oaks, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Green Tree Church of the Brethren. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Green Tree Church of the Brethren in Evelyn's memory. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc.
