Fern Ann Heit, age 83, Wife of the late George E. Heit of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 in the Spring Mill Senior Living, Phoenixville, PA. Born in Juniata Park Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Wilma (Krautsack) and Samuel Koch.

Fern started her career in accounting at General Electric in King of Prussia, where she met her husband. Her love for children then moved her to work as a Nursery School Teacher at the YMCA, for many years. At the age of 50 she made the choice to further her love of teaching and received a Bachelor Degree from West Chester University. Using her teaching degree she became a substitute teacher for K thru 12th grade with the Phoenixville School District.

Fern was a devout Christian and an active member of Valley Forge United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, and was a member of their Choir. She also taught Bible School in the summers. She was very active in VFUMC's outreach programs with her local community and where they helped build a school and hospital in Haiti.

Never forgetting where she came from, Fern spent her life helping the less fortunate between adopting families at the holidays, cooking for the local shelters, and volunteering whenever needed. One year, she was recognized for her services, and received the "Citizen of Phoenixville" award.

She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Heit, fiance of Dwayne Stubbs, her granddaughter Korinne Heit, wife of Wilson Woicehovich, Great Grandson Theo Woicehovich, her Step-son David Heit, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George Heit, her parents Samuel and Wilma Koch, and her sister Iris Davidson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc, 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Tom Ebersole. Burial will follow in the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc.
