Florence K. (Greaser) Lightcap, age 82 of Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away at home on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Born on December 25, 1937 in Zieglerville, she was a daughter of the late Elsie (Keyser) and Harold Y. Greaser.
Married on January 10, 1959, she was the wife of the late Richard H. Lightcap, for 57 years until his death in 2016.
Florence was a 1955 graduate of the Schwenksville High School.
Before she was married, Florence worked at Harleysville Insurance Company in the fire claims department.
Soon after marrying they moved to Oklahoma as her husband served in the Army at Fort Sill until his discharge.
Living at their residence in Royersford since 1963, Florence was a devoted mother and homemaker to raise her six children until grown.
She then worked for Genuardi's Family Markets in Spring City and Royersford in the Deli Department until her retirement in 2003.
During their retirement years, she and Richard spent their winters enjoying Sarasota FL., until 2016.
Florence took great pleasure caring for her grandchildren, feeding the birds, helping her family and tending to her flower beds and maintaining her yard impeccably.
Mrs. Lightcap is survived by four daughters, Karen A. (Paul) Gehris, of Orbisonia, PA, Kimberly M. (John) Varela, of Langhorne, PA, Carol A. Lightcap, of Spring City, PA and Christine E. Lightcap, of Schwenksville, PA; two sons, R. Michael Lightcap, of Douglassville, PA and Jeffrey S. (Shelly) Lightcap, of Stuarts Draft, VA; twelve grandchildren; Christopher Heffentrager, of Gilbertsville, PA, Jeremy Heffentrager, of Phoenixville, PA, Melissa Gehris, of Pottstown, PA, Evan Gehris, of Orbisonia, PA, R. Michael Lightcap Jr., of Douglassville, PA, Sarah Lightcap, of Stuarts Draft, VA, Elizabeth Lightcap, of Stuarts Draft, VA, Matthew Lightcap, of Stuarts Draft, VA, Nathan Herr, of Limerick, PA, Emily Herr, of Limerick, PA, Michael V. Herr Jr., of Limerick PA, Andrew Herr, of Limerick, PA, one great-granddaughter, Lily Kimmel, of Collegeville, PA, two brothers: Robert Greaser, of Green Lane, PA and James Greaser, of Pottstown, PA; and two sisters: E. Jean Musselman, of Schwenksville, PA and Edna Lockwood, of Pittsford, MI. In addition to her husband and parents, Florence was preceded in death by two brothers: Russell and William Greaser.
In light of the Covid 19 pandemic and for the convenience of the family, funeral services will be limited to immediate family and will be held privately. Interment will be held in the Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to donate those flowers to an elderly shut-in in honor of Florence Lightcap.
