Frances L. (Hughes) Reed, age 89, of East Coventry Township, PA, died Monday afternoon, May 10, 2010 in the Manatawny Manor Nursing Home, East Coventry, PA. She was a daughter of the late Edgar H., and Dorothy M. (Robeson) Hughes. Mrs. Reed was a 1938 graduate of the Pottstown High School. She then attended Reading Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1941. Mrs. Reed was married to her late husband Paul E. Sallade in 1942 at St. John's UCC in Sinking Spring, PA. Mrs. Reed worked as a nurse at the Hill School from 1946 ?" 1953. In 1953 Mrs. Reed began working as an industrial nurse at Doehler-Jarvis in Pottstown. She worked for over 30 years before retiring in 1983.

Mrs. Reed was also a member of the local chapter of the Visiting Nurses Association and very active as an organist and Sunday School Teacher at the Temple United Methodist Church in Pottstown. Mrs. Reed married her old dear friend William Reed in 1996. Mr. Reed passed away in 2005.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Temple United Methodist Church, 1390 Unionville Road, Pottstown, PA 19465 on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. James V. Jannotti. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. Friends will be received from 10:00?"11:00 AM Friday morning at the Church.
