Frances Mae (Ewing) Smith, 85, formerly of Schwenksville, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Frederick Mennonite Commnity. She was the widow of Lester D. Smith, who died in 1998.

She was born in Snowdenville, a daughter of the late Sherman and Lillian (Dougherty) Ewing. Frances attended Spring City High School and was a homemaker. She also was an avid gardener and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and the Schwenksville Women's Club.

She is survived by a sister: Josephine, widow of Oliver Reid, of Gilbertsville and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lea Emery and brother, Sherman Jr.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:15 AM at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St., Royersford, PA. Officiating will be Rev. Stuart W. Luce. Calling time is from 10:15 to 11:15 AM. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories.
