Frank Garone, age 79, husband of Deborah A. (Nardi) Garone of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023 in the Sanatoga Center. Born on February 16, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Basta) Garone.

Mr. Garone was a graduate of St. Francis Prep High School. He completed his undergraduate studies, as well as his master's program, at Duquesne University. Mr. Garone was a well-respected and regarded English teacher, both by his colleagues and students alike. He began his career in education for Lutheran High School on Long Island, and went on to continue at Oyster Bay High School. At both schools, in addition to his teaching, he also served as a basketball coach and was active in the drama clubs. After retirement, he continued to touch the lives of students as a substitute teacher in several school districts. He received Christmas cards from his Oyster Bay students year after year clearly showing the love that his students continued to have for him.

Mr. Garone was a fan of the theater, having season passes to the Walnut Street Theatre. He enjoyed trips to Longwood Gardens, taking walks in Valley Forge Park as well as taking in a good meal with his wife. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, liked watching Turner Classic movies, and was well known for his puns.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Garone is survived by two children, Elizabeth, wife of Bill Maniatis and their children Lana, Peter, and Lucy, and Christopher, husband of Jen Garone and their son, Albert; two step-sons, David Mieloch and Christopher Mieloch; was affectionately known as Pop G to his step-grandchildren, Jules and Zoey Mieloch; and a niece and nephew, Theresa McCarthy and Mark Garone. He was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Garone.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
