Frederick W. Schutz, 72, of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Golden Living Center. He was the husband of Mabel J. (Fetterman) Schutz.
He was born in Pottsville, a son of the late Frederick and Agnes (Donnelly) Schutz. He attended Simon Gratz High School and served in the Navy. Mr. Schutz was employed for forty years as a steelworker at National Rolling Mills/Wave, Malvern, PA retiring in 2003.
He was an active member of Faith Independent Baptist Church, Phoenixville, PA. Also, he was a co-founder of Boy Scout Troop #18, Phoenixville, PA, originally a troop for special needs boys, but later opened to all boys interested in scouting. He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son: Michael D. Schutz, at home; two daughters: Barbara A. Zygmunt and husband Walter, of Kimberton and Sharon M. Daghigh and husband Farhad, of Phoenixville; three grandsons: John and David Zygmunt and Camron Daghigh; and one granddaughter: Casey Daghigh. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Richard Schutz.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Faith Independent Baptist Church, 1015 Livingston Ave., Phoenixville, PA. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Thomkinson. A viewing will be held
from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Limerick Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or Regeneration Reservation, PO Box 247 Ft. Thomas, AZ 85536.
