?Frederick C. Schwarz, 97, of Spring City, husband of the late Eva (Breidenbach) Schwarz, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, in the Pottstown ManorCare.? Born in Newark, NJ, he was a son of the late Charles and Louise Schwarz. ?
Mr. Schwarz served his country in the United State Navy, during World War II.? He was employed by Spring City Hosiery and Apex Knitting, before his retirement as a clerk from the Pennsylvania Railroad. Mr. Schwarz was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Liberty Fire Co., and the Spring City American Legion Post No. 602. An avid Phillies fan, he enjoyed pinochle, and horse tracks, never missing an opening day at Delaware Park. ?
Mr. Schwarz is survived by daughter Nancy Hodge, of Spring City, four grandsons, Terry, Tim, Jeffrey, and Brian Hodge, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.? He was preceded in death by brother Charles Schwarz, sisters Martha Chapman, Olive Hyden, Anne Aldridge, and Ethel Cope, and granddaughter Tammi Hodge. ?
?Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Monday, August 11, 2008, at 11:30 AM.? Officiating will be the Rev. Richard A. Mathisen.? Interment will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery.? Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 AM at the funeral home.?
