Gale C. (Seifert) Paulsen, age 71, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022. Born on April 6, 1951 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Cecelia M. (Meier) and Cary L. Seifert.
Gale grew up in Phillipsburg, NJ where she attended Freeman Elementary School and graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1969. She was an active field hockey player and earned the nickname "Tuffy". Gale went on to graduate from Mitchell Junior College in New London, CT and then received her Bachelor's degree in social science from Albright College in Reading, PA.
Gale had been employed for many years at Pickering Active Sportswear in Phoenixville. She then worked for over twenty years as an area sales trainer at Bayada Home Health Care, until her retirement. Throughout her career, Gale valued her relationships with her co-workers and she thought of them as friends and an extension of her family.
A resident of Phoenixville for 40 years, Gale had been an active member of Charlestown United Methodist Church. She volunteered her time supporting Sunday school, working with St. Mary's Franciscan Shelter, and for the past several years served as Chairperson of the Staff/Parish Relations Committee. Gale was an amazing cook. She participated in a neighborhood cooking club for over thirty years sharing her love of entertaining and spending time with life-long friends. Family holiday gatherings were always a highlight and it was important to Gale to incorporate yearly traditions and include all extensions of the family.
Gale loved time spent at the beach and traveling with friends and family. She was a great first mate when she visited her brother Greg on his boat. Some of her hobbies included crafting, shopping for antiques, gardening, and caring for her cats. However, Gale most enjoyed spending time with her family, most especially her grandchildren who knew her as "Gigi". She was a role model, cheerleader, listening ear, and teacher to them. There was no limit to what she would do with or for her daughters and grandkids.
Gale is survived by her daughters: Alicia M., wife of Jeremy Nelson, of Phoenixville, PA and Julie G., wife of Andrew Mest, of Pottstown, PA; grandchildren: Cooper, Grace, Miles and Nolan; brothers: Gregory Seifert, of Chestertown, MD, and Glen Seifert and his wife, Lani, of Marshfield, VT; and niece and nephew: Emily and Nick Seifert.
Relatives and friends will be received at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville, 865 South Main Street, Phoenixville. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm at the church. Officiating will be the Pastor Scott Johnson and the Rev. Dr. Eric H. Woodworth.
