Obituary

Gayle K. (Goode) Spiegel, 65, of Spring City, PA passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Royersford. Born on May 15, 1950 in Frankfurt, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Cleo (Philpot) and Thomas Goode.

Gayle was a member of Grace Assembly of God in Spring City. She loved to garden and tend to her flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed painting, drawing and creating personalized cards.

Despite suffering from Crohn's Disease, which she bravely battled for over 20 years, her greatest accomplishment was the love, care and devotion she gave her daughter, Tasha. Gayle took care of her Tasha, who had cerebral palsy and was a very good mother and caretaker for her. She found creative ways to stimulate her daughter, often coming up with unique costumes for Halloween and decorations for Christmas.

Gayle is survived by her granddaugther, Deva Smith-Gunter, of Wailuku, HI; sister, Nancy Covey, of Akron, OH; and former husband, Richard Smith, of Stuart, FL. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Dondi and Tatiana Smith.

Gayle's family would like to offer their thanks and appreciation to several people in Gayle's life. They'd like to thank Gayle's good friend, Linda, as Gayle was like an aunt to Linda's children, close family friend, Billy, for his friendship and rides to appointments, caretaker, Brenda, who would go above and beyond in Gayle's care, Ed Rodriguez, for his help at Gayle's residence, Pastor Jack Mason, Naomi Reynolds and Gayle's church family for friendships and spiritual guidance, neighbor, Sally, for her friendship, Paulette, for her friendship, social worker, Meda, for her friendship, and very close friend, Joyce Macias for her friendship.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside service on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 10:00 am, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Parker Ford, PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Jack Mason. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, Royersford, PA. Condolences may be offered online at www.RoyersfordFuneralHome.com.
