George R. Neher, 75, passed away on Monday morning at his Phoenixville home. He was the husband of Mary Rose (Denfeld) Neher.

Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Force) Neher. He was a graduate of Phoenixville High School and served honorably as a US Marine. George was a longtime engineer for the Philadelphia Suburban Water Company at its Phoenixville Plant.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters: Kathryn A. McFadden and Kimberly A. Thornton and husband Brian all of Phoenixville; and Jacqueline A. Scheetzand husband James and Jennifer A. Boggetta all of Pottstown. There are also eight grandchildren: Jason, Brian Mark, Matthew, Sara, Zachary, Christopher, Olivia and Marissa. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gary Neher.

His graveside service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at St. Ann Cemetery at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be Rev. John J. Newns.
