Obituary

Gerald Marvin Daywalt, Sr., 75, of Oaks, passed away peacefully at Pottstown Hospital on Thursday, June 3, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born in West Conshohocken, he was the son of Carl William and Mae (Carter) Daywalt. He was the loving husband of the late Nancy (McClennen) Daywalt who passed away in 2014.
Mr. Daywalt was a dedicated employee of Upper Merion Township for many years. Gerald honorably served his community as a volunteer fireman for George Clay Fire Company, Swedesburg Fire Company where he was a lifetime member, and Oaks/Black Rock Fire Company where he served as Fire Police Captain.
Gerald enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed spending time at Grandview Speedway watching the races with his grandson. Gerald loved taking cruises and vacations to tropical destinations like Mexico with family. He was a social butterfly, who made friends wherever he went. On nice days, he could be seen riding his electric scooter down to the little league field to enjoy the weather and watch the ball games. What Gerald loved most of all was spending time with his four grandchildren whenever he could.
He is survived by his son Gerald “Gator” Daywalt, Jr., husband of Robin, of Limerick, his four grandchildren; Alyssa, Jenna, Serena, and Zachary, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife Nancy, he is preceded in death by three brothers; William, Carter, and Carl.
