Giovanni Battista "Gian" Cracchiolo, age 80, husband of Filomena "Florence" (Catania) Cracchiolo of Royersford, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in the Pottstown Hospital, Pottstown, PA. Born on June 24, 1943 in Carini (Palermo), Italy, he was a son of the late Giacomo and Angela (Mineo) Cracchiolo.

A man of endless love and selflessness, Mr. Cracchiolo made many of his memories around the table. He loved to talk about his 5 years in Switzerland, his return to Sicily where he was drafted into the Italian army to serve in Rome, and his final destiny to America where he met his loving wife. After 5 years in America, he had a wife, 3 children, 3 jobs and lived in a one bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, NY. Better opportunity brought them to Pennsylvania, where he made a living in the pizzeria and restaurant industry.

Mr. Cracchiolo had a heart of gold. Although his upbringing wasn't the easiest, he made sure he opened his heart to everyone he encountered. He never arrived to a home empty-handed, and one never left his home without a parting gift. He enjoyed cooking, watching soccer, fast cars, and a good glass of wine. His grandchildren and his family were his whole world.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Cracchiolo is survived by three children, Angela, wife of Marty Klisch, Giacomo Cracchiolo, and Vita, wife of Joe DiCicco; seven grandchildren, Gianna, Ava, Marco, Isabella, Amelia, Alexia, and Adriana; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two siblings, Rosa Badalamenti and Rosario Cracchiolo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at St. Eleanor Roman Catholic Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegeville, PA 19426 on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:30 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Alessandro P. Giardini. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM-11:15 AM at the Church on Monday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gian B. Cracchiolo Memorial Fund, c/o Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust, P.O. Box 708, 120 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
