Gilbert L. "Butch" Duncan, 65, of Pottstown, PA died on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He was the husband of Linda (Deyoc) Duncan.
Butch was born in Pulaski, VA to the late Gilbert R. and Eva (Copenhaver) Duncan. He attended Spring-Ford Schools. He was employed for many years with American Water, and formerly at Pennco Products. He was a life member of Limerick Fire Company for 39 years. He was a former Fire Police Captian, recording secretary and board of director. He also was a life member of Upper Pottsgrove Fire Company and was active with the township's fire committee and civil service commission. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, horseback riding and Mustangs. He especially loved the time spent with his family and grandkids.
In addition to his wife of 46 years he is survived by a daughter, Michelle K. Sassaman and husband Randy, of Stowe; son, David R. Duncan and wife Carol, of Limerick; sister, Carol Candia, of Erie; brother, Terry Duncan, of Fleetwood; eight grandchildren; nephew, Andrew Duncan and wife Megan, of Gilbertsville, as well as several other nieces and nephews; and his loving dogs, Ziggy and Daisy Mae. He was also predeceased by brothers: Jerry and James Duncan Sr.
Services will be Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:30 AM at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA. Officiating will be Bobbie Hoffman, Director of Discipling at St. James Lutheran Church. Calling time is from 10:30-11:30 AM. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories.
