Gladys V. (Hedrick) Thompson, wife of Samuel M. Thompson, of Royersford, PA, where she lived all of her life, died peacefully in her sleep at home, after a brief illness on Sunday morning, November 1, 2009. Born in Royersford, PA, she was a daughter of John G. and Martha (Spear) Hedrick. Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of the Royersford High School and the Norristown Business School. She was a member of the Royersford Baptist Church. Mrs. Thompson was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lehigh Consistory in Allentown. She worked for the Royersford Foundry, Diamond Glass in Royersford, Philco Manufacturing in Spring City, and retired from the Valley Forge Flag Company. She enjoyed traveling and gardening. Mrs. Thompson was a loving wife and devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, Mrs. Thompson is survived by Two Daughters; Peggy J., wife of Robert J. Brown, of Bensalem, PA, Sheryl A., wife of Ted Harbison, of Pottstown, One Brother; John G. Hedrick, Jr., of Limerick, PA, Three Grandchildren; Christopher J. (Barbara) Brown, Evan S. Harbison, Megan N. Harbison, Two Great-Grandchildren; Joshua A. and Matthew C. Brown.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Royersford Baptist Church, 452 S. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468 on Thursday afternoon, November 5, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Karen Ann Selig. Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 12:00 - 12:45 PM Thursday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to the American Heart Association, 625 West Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
