Glen Alan Ruzicka, until recently Director of Conservation at the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts (CCAHA), in Philadelphia, died on Sunday, November 21, from injuries sustained in a fall from a ladder at his home in Kimberton. Mr. Ruzicka, aged 61, was a well-respected member of the art conservation and preservation cultural community for more than four decades, having previously held positions at the Library of Congress, in Washington, D.C., and the Milton S. Eisenhower Library at The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, before joining CCAHA in 1988. Born in Baltimore, he graduated from Emory University, Atlanta, with a B.A. in philosophy. He was a professional associate of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works and was also on the board of directors of the Kimberton Waldorf School. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Molly Branch Clark Ruzicka, and their son Thaddeus Glen Ruzicka; his brother, Robin Ruzicka, of Salem, S.C., his sister, Lynn Steelberg, of Wilmington, N.C., and 15 nieces and nephews. He is the son of Donald Joseph Ruzicka, of Salem, S.C., and the late Ethel Virginia (Nice) Ruzicka. He was a gentle and loving man whose devotion to his career and wide-ranging interests were eclipsed only by his love of family and friends.

Relatives and friends will be received at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 28. A private burial will be held at St. John's Cemetery, Ellicott City, Md. A memorial service to honor Mr. Ruzicka's life will also be held in the next several weeks in Philadelphia--date and location to be announced through appropriate online channels.
