Gloria L. (DiGuiseppe) McGuigan, revered as a pillar of faith, kindness and strength passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024. Born on August 10, 1935, Gloria was known for her warmth, selflessness and undeniably loving spirit she brought into the world.
Gloria will be lovingly remembered by her beloved children Regina, wife of Bob Shires, Eileen, wife of Don Dolenti, John, husband of Barbara McGuigan, and Michael, husband of Bridget McGuigan; her grandchildren Shelton, Dominic, Mary, Mario, Jason, Miranda, Matthew, Mary Kate, and Frank; and her six great-grandchildren: Whitney, Brooke, Madison, James, John, and Charlotte. She is joined in rest by her mother, Maria C. (DeLeonardo), her father Liberatore DiGuiseppe, her siblings: Annie DePaoli, Umberto DiGuiseppe, Pasquale DiGuiseppe, Albertina Hozyash, Mario DiGuiseppe, and Lucia DePietropaolo; former husband: Francis McGuigan; and dear friend: Edward Emswiler. With a large family tree and family consisting of blood ties and bonds formed from the heart, Gloria's reach was as far as it was wide and she was cherished deeply by many.
Among Gloria's most significant accomplishments was raising her four children, whom she held as her pride and joy. Even amidst the challenges life brought her way, Gloria never wavered in her faith and her compassion for others.
As a Class of 1953 graduate of Royersford High School, Gloria has been employed over the years at Jones Motors, Pennhurst, Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, Spring-Ford High School Athletic Department and the Royersford Police Department, until her retirement in 2004. She was a long-time devout member of Sacred Heart Church. She enjoyed thrifting and was an avid yardsaler. Most importantly, Gloria had an immense love and devotion to her family and she never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than she did for herself.
A Celebration of Life for Gloria will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Friends and family will be received from 8:30 - 10:00 am at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on the same day, at 10:30 am, at Sacred Heart Church, Walnut Street and Lewis Road, Royersford. Officiating will be the Rev. Tadeusz Gorka. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Phoenixville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gloria's name to Sacred Heart Church, P.O. Box 64, 838 Walnut Street, Royersford, PA 19468.
