Gregory A. Derix, age 62, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020 in the Einstein Medical Center of Philadelphia. Born on November 7, 1958 in Phoenixville, PA, he was a son of the late Carl and Myrtle (Funk) Derix.

Greg was a 1977 graduate of the Northern Chester CountyTechnical School. He held several management positions, beginning with Vitamin World in the Coventry Mall, then eventually with the Eckerd Pharmacy. As his mother's health declined, Greg became her full-time caregiver, while at the same time running her cleaning business. He would also go on to be a caregiver for a family friend as well. Greg had a fascination with history, specifically Egyptian history and ancient religions. He was very intelligent and creative, and was handy and enjoyed crafting and making things.

Greg is survived by one brother, Mark D., husband of Renee Derix of Pottstown, PA; two nephews, Mark R., husband of Courtney Derix and Nathan D., husband of Kaitlyn Derix; three great-nephews and one great-niece.
