Obituary

H. Paul Jeffers, 75, of New York City, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2009, in the Mount Sinai Medical Center, Manhattan. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Tinney) Jeffers.

Mr. Jeffers was a journalist who traveled the world through his passion. In the 60's he was a Fulbright Scholar and also reported from Vietnam with Peter Jennings. He taught journalism and communications in Thailand and Pakistan during the 80's. He was an author who wrote over 50 fiction and non-fiction books on History, Westerns and Biographies, including Theodore Roosevelt and Sherlock Holmes. He also wrote news for WINS, WABC, WNBC, and WCBS and traveled extensively through Europe, but he loved New York City.

Mr. Jeffers is survived by his sister, Arlene J., wife of the late Harold Himes, of Phoenixville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Devonshire and Jean Detwiler and by his brother, The Honorable John Jeffers.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Phoenixville Library, 183 Second Avenue, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
