H. Jane (Walters) Smith, 75, wife of Clarence S. Smith, of East Coventry, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2009, in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Spring City, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Helena (Burgoyne) Walters.

Mrs. Smith was a 1951 graduate of Spring City High School, and attended beautician school in Norristown. She was employed as a hairdresser and drove school buses for Krapf Bus Company. She was also a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Royersford, served on the election board in East Coventry for 35 years, started Meals On Wheels in the East Coventry area 35 years ago, and enjoyed bird watching.

In addition to her loving husband of 50 years, Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane, wife of Mark Chase, of Reisterstown, MD, son Karl S. Smith, of East Coventry, and three grandchildren, Matthew Smith and Sarah and Rebecca Chase.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul H Neff. Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Spring City. Friends may call from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
