H. Jean Weigel, age 88, wife of the late George L. Slifer and Kenneth Weigel, of Pottstown, formerly of Royersford, PA passed away on Tuesday evening, March 29, 2011 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Limerick, she was a daughter of the late Daniel L. and Hannah (Hallman) Evans.
Mrs. Weigel was a member of the Royersford United Methodist Church. She was involved with the Order of the Eastern Star of Royersford, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of Liberty Steam Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary of Spring City, the Spring Ford AARP, and a member of the Retirement Group of Superior Tube of Collegeville. Mrs. Weigel also volunteered much of her time with the American Red Cross. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Weigel is survived by one daughter, Carol, wife of Brian Walsh; two sons, George R., husband of Carol Slifer, and Larry, husband of Rosemary Slifer; one step-daughter, Joyce, wife of Michael Campeggio; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Rev. Lee F. Adams. Burial will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 AM.
