Harold H. "Bud" Savage

Harold H. "Bud" Savage, 92, devoted husband of Lillian E. (Normann) Savage, of Royersford, passed away on Thursday, September 09, 2010, in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Parker Ford, he was a son of the late K. Newton and Edna (Huber) Savage.

Bud joined the Army in 1941 to Battery C, 107th Field Artillery and 28th Division in Phoenixville. He attended Officer's Candidate School at Fort Monmouth, NJ in 1942 and graduated at 2nd Lieutenant on December 30, 1942 and was attached to the Signal Corp of the 8th Army Air Force. Bud received an honorable Battle Star for his outstanding performance and then returned to England and came home on the Queen Mary. He was honorably discharge on December 24th, 1945 as a 1st Lieutenant.

In 1980, he retired from his TV and appliance business but continued to work on his sawmill, play in bridge tournaments and enjoy time with his family.

Bud was always active at Parker Ford Baptist Church where he was a member all his life. He served on the Board of Trustees, Diaconate Board and Cemetery Board. He was also very active in business operations such as the Lion's Club and the Royersford Business Association where he served as President. Bud was an avid and expert bridge player and was awarded a Masters in Bridge.

His hobbies included running his sawmill, playing bridge, and taking the family fishing in Canada every year.

In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, Mr. Savage is survived by four daughters, Sonia Savage, of California, Joy (Savage) wife of Christopher McMahon, Lisa (Savage) wife of the late Kent Henley, of Pottstown, and Kim (Savage) wife of Jeffrey Kulp of Gilbertsville, four sons, Glenn husband of Carol Savage, of South Carolina, Bradley husband of Manon Savage, of Doylestown, Ty husband of Kathy Savage of Royersford, and Roger husband of Debra Savage of Pottstown, one brother, Dr. John S. Savage, of Ohio, twenty-one grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, September 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Ford Baptist Church, 92 Baptist Church Road, Parker Ford, PA. Officiating will be the Rev. Jonathan W. Kline Sr. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
