Harold James "Doc" Dachsteiner, 69, of Douglassville, died peacefully on Sunday at his home after a nine month battle with cancer.? He was the husband of Sandra L. (Taft) Dachsteiner.?
Doc was born in Spring Valley, IL on December 29, 1938 to the late Leo and Josephine (Belski) Dachsteiner.? He served his country honorably in the US Navy.?
In the 60's, he was the owner of the former Pizza Oven in Phoenixville.? He was also employed? by the Valley Forge Sewer Authority and was lastly employed as a facility maintenance technician at RCN, Bethlehem, PA.?
Doc attended Green Tree Church of the Brethren.? He also took his Honda Goldwing motorcycle to various shows in the area and won many awards.? He was also a member of the Kiss Honda Motorcycle Club in Pottstown.?
In addition to his wife of 27 years, he is survived by a daughter, April Dachsteiner, of Jeffersonville; a step-daughter, Natalie Boettger, of New Holland; a step-son, Rodney Boettger, of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Kenneth Dachsteiner, of Yorkville, IL and Paul Dachsteiner, of Dover, NH and six grandchildren, Stephen Tyler Arnold, Savanna Jean Arnold, Zachary Hensel and Courtney, Hannah and Ian Boettger.?
His memorial service will be held on Saturday at 4 PM at Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Rd., Oaks, PA 19456.? Burial will follow in the church cemetery.? Calling time is from 3-4 PM.?
