Harris O. Wood died on Monday at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.? He was the loving husband of almost sixty years to the late Jeanne (Gray) Wood, who died in 2001.

Harris graduated from Michigan State University and then joined the Philco Corporation in 1942.? That company was later bought out by the Ford Motor Company, where he served in a number of managerial positions, chief of which was as Director of Consumer Products Engineering.? In 1977 Harris joined Philco International Corporation as a Vice President.? He retired from the corporation in 1984.

Before moving to the Sanatoga Ridge Community, Harris and his wife Jeanne lived in Northwoods, Springfield Township, Montgomery County, PA for almost forty years.? He was an avid golfer at North Hills Country Club.? While there they attended the Roxborough Presbyterian Church where Harris served as Elder, Trustee and sang in the choir.? He also served as Sunday School Superintendent for sixteen years.? While living in Pottstown, Harris was a member of Berean Bible Church.

Harris was the son of the late Fred E. and Pearl K. Wood?? His brother, George Frederick Wood, preceded him in death.? Surviving are his sisters, Berneise I. Smith of Florida and Betty M. Moir of Arizona.? Also surviving is his son Charles Leslie of Alvin, TX and Marcia K. Meissner of South Coventry, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Harris' funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at Berean Bible Church, 2675 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA 19464.? Burial will follow in George Washington Memorial Park.?
