Harry J. Bowersox, 82, of North Coventry , died on Sunday morning at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center after a sudden illness.? He was the husband of Evelyn M. (Henry) Bowersox.? They would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on the 23rd of October.?
Born in Wagner , PA he was a son of the late Harry J. and Effie (Romig) Bowersox.? He attended the Bowersox School .? Harry served honorably in the Asiatic Pacific Theater aboard the USS Samaritan in World War II.?
Harry was employed at Laurel Locks Farms, Point of View Nursery, and lastly as a saw operator at French Creek Granite Company.?
He was a member and former Trustee of Cedarville United Methodist.? At Cedarville, he helped create Boy Scout Troop #95.? He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking.?
In addition to his wife of 63 years he is survived by his grandchildren: Monica Kissinger, of Hamburg, Kristina Lillis, of Exter, Andy Bowersox, of Winston-Salem, NC, Peter Bowersox, of Norristown and Mark Bowersox, of Noblesville, IN, eleven great-grandchildren; a sister Gladys "Sue", and brothers: Clair "Pete", Paul and Archie.? He was also preceded in death by his sons: Kenneth Wayne, late husband of Lois (Long) Bowersox McGill, and Harry Lee, late husband of Frances ( Anderson ) Bowersox, brothers: Charles, Ralph and Theodore and sisters: Mildred and Victoria.?
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at Cedarville U.M.C., 1092 Laurelwood Road , Pottstown , PA 19465 . Officiating will be Revs. Robert Hoffman and Thomas Jenkins.? Calling time is from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.? Interment will be in Brownbacks Cemetery .?
