Harry G. Getz, age 64, of Phoenixville, PA, died Monday, June 21, 2010, at his home. He was the husband of Lola D. (Dell'Arciprete) Getz. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he is a son of Antoinette (nee Magarowicz) (Wilfred) Hoover, of Harrisburg and the late Harry Getz. Harry graduated from Phoenixville High School and also served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marines. He was employed as a Maintenance Mechanic at Wyeth, Collegeville, retiring in 2005. Harry was a member of the VFW in Phoenixville and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle with friends
In addition to his wife of 15 years, mother, and step-father, he is survived by his children: Sean M. Getz, of Royersford, and Beth A. Getz of Spring City; granddaughter, Brittany Lorraine; sisters: Antonette "Toni" Shive and husband Scott, Kathleen McEachern and husband James, Hazel Polk and husband Jim; brothers: Lawrence Getz and wife Deb, and Benjamin and Stanley Getz. He was also predeceased by a brother Joseph, husband of Dixie Getz of Dillsburg, PA.
His memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA at 2 PM. Friends will be received from 1-2 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
