Harry B. "Bud" Trumbauer, Sr., of Pottstown, PA, formerly of Pughtown, died Tuesday morning, October 12, 2010 in the Coventry Manor Nursing Home. Born in Harmonyville on May 8, 1919, he was a son of the late Harry R., and Susie (Morrison) Trumbauer. He was a graduate of the Royersford High School and was the starting quarterback for the football team. A veteran, he served for the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He achieved the rating of Deck Engineer. Mr. Trumbauer was awarded the Merchant Marine Combat Bar, the Atlantic, Pacific, Mediterranean Middle East War Zone Bars. He retired from Diamond Glass in Royersford in July 1974 and then worked as a security guard for Spring City Knitting Company until it closed. Mr. Trumbauer was an avid hunter & angler. He enjoyed fly fishing along the French Creek and the Lehigh River. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Spring City. When he was younger, Mr. Trumbauer raced cars on local dirt tracks under the name of "Reds Bauer". He was a member of the Pughtown Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee and was on the visitation team for shut-ins.

Mr. Trumbauer is survived by; one son; Harry B.(Carol) Trumbauer, Jr., of White Haven, PA, two grandsons; David Trumbauer of Oregon, Adam Trumbauer, of Texas, three nephews; Christopher DeWalt, of Stowe, PA, James (Linda) DeWalt, of Boyertown, Tom (Kathy) Reidnauer, of Boyertown, one niece; Nancy Ellis, of Pottstown, four great nephews; Josh and Ian DeWalt, Woody and Gregory Garber. Mr. Trumbauer was pre-deceased by two sisters; Arlene Trumbauer Crabtree and Verda Ann Trumbauer DeWalt.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at the Pughtown Baptist Church, 780 Pughtown Road, Spring City, PA 19475 on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 10:00AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Eddie J. Smith. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends will be received from 9-10AM Saturday morning at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Pughtown Baptist Church at the above address.
