Hayden Paul Mathias, 22, born in Novosibirsk, Siberia on July 18, 1998, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, August 27, 2020.
Hayden was an outstanding athlete who excelled in many sports but his passion for hockey was unrivaled. He played for many different hockey teams including the Jr. Flyers, Quakers, Minutemen, Valley Forge Colonials, Great Valley High School, and Bridgton Academy. Hockey was his life and he enjoyed every moment he was on the ice. But most of all, Hayden was a spirited and loving son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, teammate and dear friend to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His colorful and often uncensored personality left an everlasting impression… and made for some of the funniest stories.
Hayden is survived by his parents James and Sherry Mathias; brother, Sam (Grace) Hirsch; sister, Rachel Mathias; Grandparents, Nancy Paul, Lois Brownstein, and Charles B. Mathias; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Louis Paul and Nellie Ann Mathias.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Hayden on Thursday evening, September 3, 2020 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 610 S. Main St. Phoenixville, PA 19460. A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, September 4, 2020 at 11:00AM at the George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave. Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone For Hope Foundation at https://cornerstoneforhope.org/donate/.
