Obituary

Heide C. Boldt Diefenderfer, age 77, wife of the late John Philip Diefenderfer, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 5, 2020, surrounded by family. Born on January 17, 1943 in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Gerti Pfeffer (Pirwitz) and Waldemar Alexander Boldt.

As a young child Heide lived in East Berlin, Germany and then moved to Essen, Germany at 17. At 20, Heide married her former husband, Ulrich A. Rimrott, and together they immigrated to the United States and started a family. In those early years of coming to the United States, Heide learned to speak English, earned her GED and proudly became a United States Citizen. First and foremost, Heide was a dedicated mother. She treasured her 4 children, her "Schätzchens" and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Omi to her 3 Grandsons. Heide was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She will always be remembered for her homemade stollen, pflaumenkuchen and spaetzle. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. If you were lucky enough to know Heide, you know she held nothing back and wore her heart on her sleeve. Her eyes would light up a room and her biggest gift was the love she gave to family and friends.

Heide was very artistic and enjoyed working with her hands. In her younger years, she did macramé and made her own clothes. In her retirement years, she was a member of several crafting groups where she enjoyed braiding, hooking, doll making and beading. She took great pleasure in getting together with friends and sharing her crafting talents with others. Recent cherished memories include traveling with her late husband John "Tschanni" and spending time at their lake house sailing. Heide was blessed with lifelong friendships. Her daily quatsch sessions with her closest girlfriends and loved family members will be dearly missed.

Heide is survived by her children: Elke Rimrott, of Collegeville, Dirk, husband of Janet Rimrott, of Phoenixville, Ralf, husband of Maria Rimrott, of Bahia, Brasil and Britta, wife of Leonard Pekofsky, of Phoenixville; grandsons: Tyler, Zachary and Lucas Pekofsky; step-grandchildren Danielle Jackson and Louise Bianconi; niece Stephanie Pfeffer, partner of Dominik Stocker and great niece Mia, of Gstadt, Germany; nephew Tobias Pfeffer, husband of Stephanie Pfeffer of Hanover, Germany; brother "mein Kleena" Gerald Pfeffer, husband of Kyesun Pfeffer, of Ratingen, Germany and many other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Heide was preceded in death by her former husband, Ulrich A. Rimrott.
