Obituary

Helen S. Herr
Helen Mae (Stierly) Herr, 93, of Limerick, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born at home in Arcola, PA on April 28, 1924, Mrs. Herr was the daughter of the late John Herbert, Sr. and Bessie Adeline (Caley) Stierly. Mrs. Herr was also preceded in death by brothers, Harold M., Alfred W., George D. and J. Herbert (Jack) Stierly.
A 1942 graduate of Norristown High School, Helen worked as a secretary for numerous businesses in the Norristown area. She married her (late) husband, Albert S. Herr in 1945, with whom they shared 62 years together. Together, they owned and operated their farm and grain business in Limerick, where she served as bookkeeper and secretary. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, "Mom Herr" cherished family celebrations, holidays, and time spent together with her loved ones. She greatly enjoyed gospel and country music, Lawrence Welk, The Statler Brothers, trips to Lancaster, visiting family and friends in Florida, dining out with her family and friends. She took great pride in maintaining an immaculate home and preparing meals for her family. A modest woman, she was devoted to her husband, their sons, and their family business.
Mrs. Herr was a life-long member of the Green Tree Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by her three sons, all of Limerick Township, Harold A. and Maralyn (Schreiber) Herr, Albert Y. and Debra (Moore) Herr, and David C. and Patti (Pinkerton) Herr. She took great pride in her fifteen grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
