Helen Lynch McAleer, age 91, wife of the late Hugh A. McAleer, of Valley Forge, PA passed away early Monday morning, December 6, 2010 in her residence. She was born in Buffalo, NY, daughter of Thomas R. and Hannah D. (Dallas) Lynch. She moved to Eastern Pennsylvania at the age of 10. She graduated in the class of 1937 from Tredyffrin Easttown High School. Mrs. McAleer was an accomplished equestrienne, a charter member of the DVCTA, was a life member of the United States Pony Clubs, Inc., served many years as a Regional Supervisor of the Eastern Pennsylvania Region of the United States Pony Clubs and also served as a committee chair person of the Radnor Hunt International Three - Day Event. She was one of the founding members of the Bookworm in Phoenixville and served as the President of the Mother's Club at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur.
Mrs. McAleer is survived by one son; Hugh R. McAleer, husband of Kathy, of Zebulon, GA, three daughters; Eileen Corl, wife of the late Wiley F. Corl, III of Glen Mills, PA, Jean Ellen Knowlton, wife of R. Andrew, of Valley Forge, PA and Margaret Cappelli, wife of Andrew, also of Valley Forge, PA. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, one great grandson, three sisters-in-law; Mary Robinson, Anna Robinson, Rose Young and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Washington Memorial Chapel, 2000 Valley Forge Rd, Valley Forge, PA 19481 on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM.
