Henry B. Haitz Jr., age 85, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly Royersford, PA passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 in Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. He was the husband of 58 years to the late Margaret Ann "Peggy" Bechtel Haitz, whom he married on May 14, 1960 in Royersford. Born on July 21, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Henry B. Sr. and Lennea M. (Palm) Haitz.

Mr. Haitz was a graduate of Collegeville-Trappe High School, class of 1956, where he was a letterman on the football and baseball teams. As a boy he was active in Hi-Y and 4-H and was a member of St. Eleanor Catholic Church. He attended Ursinus College. He was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Royersford, where he was married. Henry retired as a Systems Engineer for The SI Organization, Inc. (The Systems Integrator) in Valley Forge. SI is a leading provider of mission-focused systems engineering and integration services to the U.S. intelligence community, Department of Defense and other agencies. His 50+ years of service at SI began when they were a division of General Electric Aerospace.

He was known at the Masonic Village for always being positive, helpful and a diplomat where he participated in many activities including cornhole (Lancaster County senior games champion), bocci, and pinochle. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, a good book, and trips with his family to Aruba and Ocean City, NJ.

Henry is survived by two children, Beth Ann (Douglas E.) Bilheimer of Elizabethtown, PA and Henry B. Haitz III (Tina M. Kelley) of Mount Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Scott D. Bilheimer (Lauren E.) of Lebanon, PA, Cara B. (Logan M., great-grandson Lewis D.) Jury of Elizabethtown, PA, and Adam J. Kelley (Emma E.) of Charleston, SC; sisters, Judith M. (Larry B.) Gerhart and the late L. Karen Alsobrooks; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, PA on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Tadeusz Gorka. Burial will be held in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford. Friends will be received from 9:30 am - 10:30 am Friday at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA.
