Henry J."Harry" McDermott, age 85, husband of the late Ann Marie (McHugh) McDermott, of Lower Pottsgrove, formerly of Royersford, PA died late Friday night, July 22, 2011. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Henry J. and Katherine (Reavy) McDermott. He was a graduate of the LaSalle University in Philadelphia. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. McDermott worked for many years in logistics for the federal government. After his retirement, Mr. McDermott was a starter at the Jeffersonville Golf Course. He was a long term active member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford. He volunteered in the cafeteria at the school, and assisted in the counting of the Sunday collection for many years. He also enjoyed attending and calling Bingo for the Sacred Heart Parish Fair. He enjoyed opera and classical music.

Mr. McDermott is survived by one brother; John "Jack", husband of Norma McDermott, of Philadelphia, PA, and nephews, John and Michael, their wives and many dear friends he met through the Church over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, PA on Thursday, July28, 2011 at 10:00AM. Friends will be received from 9:00 - 9:45 AM Thursday morning at the Church. Burial will be held in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA on Thursday at 2:00PM.
