Henry J. Hennessey, 93, of Royersford, PA, widower of Jeanette (Stipa) and formerly of Josephine (Axsmith), passed away Thursday evening February 3, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Patrick Hennessey and Catherine McHugh. He graduated from Phoenixville High School in 1936. Henry worked for Goodrich, Deiger's Dairy, and the Royersford branch of the US Postal Service. He was a long-term member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Royersford. He was also a member of the Friendship Firehouse in Phoenixville.

He is survived by six children; Henry J. Hennessey, husband of Isolde, of MO; Francis X. Hennessey, widower of Mary, of NJ; Joseph J. Hennessey, husband of Helen, of CA; Patrick J. Hennessey, husband of Maria, of Collegeville; Susan J. Grazioso, wife of Charles, of Schwenksville; Theresa Woodward, wife of Raymond, of Phoenixville; brother, Thomas Hennessey, of Norristown; 13 grandchildren; Michael, Noreen, Shaun, Erin, Joseph, Mary Cate, Christina, Kaitlyn, Sean, Jessica, Melissa, Eric, and Aiden; and two great-grandchildren, Molly and Paul. He was predeceased by two sisters, Helen and Catherine, and a brother Joseph.

Henry's family was the center of his life. He was the patriarch of all family vacations and reunions. He also enjoyed walking, home renovation projects, listening to big band music, and watching sunsets from his back porch.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, PA 19468 on Wednesday morning February 9, 2011 at 10:30 AM. Officiating will be the Rev. Peter J. DiMaria. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Cemetery, Norristown, PA. Friends will be received at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA on Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30 PM or from 9:00-10:00 AM Wednesday morning.
