Herman A. Lederer, age 85, husband of Joyce M. (Neiman) Lederer, of Royersford, PA, formerly Parker Ford, PA, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 in the Brandywine Senior Living. Born on June 14, 1936 in Abington, PA, he was a son of the late Herman O.A. and Anna Julie (Renz) Lederer.
Mr. Lederer was a graduate of Spring City High School, class of 1954. Following his education, he went on to work with his family at Herman Lederer Sons Wholesale Growers. Always working hard to provide for his family, Mr. Lederer would go on to operate the greenhouse along with his brother for many years. A jack-of-all-trades, he prided himself on fixing things, tinkering on things, and not having to call a repair man. His love of tinkering also led to a passion, hobby, and business of building race motors. Many of his motors would go on to set track records across the country, and his work was sought after. This passion also led him to achieve many firsts in racing, including building his own quarter midget.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Mr. Lederer is survived by four children, Tammy L. Lederer, wife of Carl Saccoccio of Chepachet, RI, Herman A. Jr., husband of Kim Lederer of Pottstown, PA, Leann M., wife of Jeff Howson of Phoenixville, PA, and Jeffrey P., husband of Dawn Lederer of Pottstown, PA; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Karl, husband of Patricia Lederer, Dorothea, wife of the late Roger Fitzgerald, and Paul, husband of Elfreda Lederer; and many nieces and nephews.
Family is invited to attend his graveside service at the Parker Ford Baptist Church Cemetery, 92 Baptist Church Road, Parker Ford, PA on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 11:30 am. Officiating will be Pastor Robert Davalt. Condolences may be made by visiting www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.
