Hershey D. Johnson, 66, of Chester County, entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2021. Hershey was born September 8, 1954 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He was the close friend of Maxine Banks, with whom he shared 42 years of companionship.
Hershey was a dedicated employee of Phoenixville Steel, where he worked for 10 years. He was a faithful man who loved going to church. He also enjoyed socializing with his many friends.
In addition to his partner Maxine, he is survived by his mother; Pauline Coleman, two sons; Marquis and Maurice Banks, a sister; Rachael Johnson, a brother; Randy Johnson, grandchildren; Amaya, Zariya, Zayla, and Zamir Banks, nieces and nephews; Randy Johnson, Jr., Jeconiah Johnson, Desmond Johnson, Kahlesha Johnson, Elisha Johnson, and Megan Johnson, and a host of cousins and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother; Isabell Johnson, an aunt; Christine Johnson, and his eldest son; Lamont Tate.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 10-11am at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 610 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Hershey will be laid to rest in Morris cemetery, immediately following the funeral service.
