Holly P. DuPlessis, age 68, wife of Gregory DuPlessis Jr. of Chester Springs, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 in Lankenau Hospital with her family by her side.

Born on April 22, 1952 in Kittanning, Pa, she was the only daughter of the late Paul A. Patton and Vivian (Porterfield) Patton. Holly was a 1969 graduate of Arts High School, Newark, NJ. As a young artist, she had pieces displayed at the Newark Museum of Art. She particularly enjoyed working with oil paints and watercolors. Holly was active in high school cheerleading and loved ice skating. After attending Rutgers University, she worked as a sales assistant for the Berkshire Furniture Store in Union, NJ, and later held important positions in several family businesses.

Holly married her husband Gregory on the sweltering hot evening of June 3rd, 1972. They had one daughter together who everyone called Mimi. Holly was the executive operations manager of the family household and had many varied interests. She was a devoted mother and best friend to her daughter, and especially loved spending time with family. Holly enjoyed doing laundry, chatting with her special friends, growing orchids and other house plants, doing crossword and word puzzles, Lay's Classic potato chips, and giving advice! She spent long hours with many, many different dogs and puppies as a canine foster mom. She grew up in the company of parakeets and dachshunds. A child of The Beatles era; as an adult she also enjoyed country-western music and learning more about football. Holly drove endless miles chauffeuring her daughter to school and riding lessons and was a devoted caregiver and advocate for her elderly mother for many years, following the sudden and unexpected death of her beloved father, Paul.

In addition to her loving husband of 49 years, Holly is survived by her devoted daughter, Michele C. (Mimi) DuPlessis, wife of James C. Matson. Prior to moving back to Pennsylvania, Holly and her family spent time living in New Jersey, New York, and Wisconsin. She built her dream home in Chester Springs in 1997 where she lived together with her husband, parents and daughter and son-in-law for many happy years. She loved watching the different birds and deer that visited outside her windows. Holly was a good listener with a quick wit and plenty of brains in her head; she cared for everyone around her and enriched so many lives with her signature brand of warmth, confidence, love, and sense of humor.

Holly will be interred in the family plot beside her loving parents at the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard in Valley Forge National Historical Park, Valley Forge, PA. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
